Former Greenpeace member, monkey-wrencher and eco-warrior, Verbena mage Carl Matthew Landless snapped during an anti-logging protest in the Pacific Northwest. His first few Effects, all explosions, sent Sleeper witnesses running. Only a coven of Verbena (Landless' erstwhile companions), saw Landless convert several bulldozers into tree sculptures. "They looked like topiary shrubs," Heasha Momingshade said later. "They were beautiful, until Paradox spirits moved in and consumed them."  Landless escaped while the coven fought the spirits, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
