Avatar Form

(• • • • Life, • • Prime, • • Mind)          The Book of Shadows:  The Mage Players Guide  138

Vibansumitra could look back in time through his Avatar, even before his Awakening. One of his greatest feats was his ability to project the true form of his Avatar into this physical Realm. His skin would turn a bright sky blue and become immune to the effects of natural temperature changes. Instead of two arms, Vibansumitra now had six. Each hand was constantly busy fiddling with something of importance to him; yet one always remained clasped in a position of respect for his Avatar.

All who saw Vibansumitra gazed in awe at his heavenly form.

[This rote hardens the skin so that it can take exposure to intense temperature extremes, from chilling arctic wind to the heat of a lava flow.  It might, optionally, harden the skin like armor (Mage, pg. 269), adding one level of Armor per success.  This latter Effect slows the mage down, applying the normal penalty of actually wearing armor of that type. The Brother may decide the level of Armor after the success of the initial magick roll.]

[The mage grows four additional arms.  He may add four dice to his Dice Pool for manual tasks, but must split that pool between the various actions he performs. Difficulties for each action might increase, due to the concentration involved in using six arms. The skin of the practitioner also turns blue. While in this form, an overwhelming feeling of awe projects into the minds of everyone viewing the caster via the second Rank of the Mind Sphere. A simpler form of this rote, Iron Body, toughens the mage's body but confers none of the other effects. The simpler rote uses Life and Prime to harden the body like armor and does not require Mind.]
