Anyone with advanced scientific knowledge (such as

four dots in the Science or Medicine Ability) can offer a

reasonable explanation why a supernatural phenomenon

shouldn't work. This Procedure requires a "vulgar witness":

an un-Enlightened representative of the Masses. By explaining

away the impossible, an Enlightened agent drives away

the power of the supernatural. After all, technology teaches

us that anyone in a lab coat must be a scientist, and that

anyone who can mask a theory in the right technical terms

must be telling the truth.
